Duct Sealing

Duct Leakage can lead to higher energy bills

Sealing ducts will eliminate losing conditioned air into unconditioned areas, such as the crawlspace or attic.

How To

Homes with forced-air heating and cooling systems, ducts distribute conditioned air throughout the home. In the averagel houseabout 20 percent of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts. The result is higher utility bills and difficulty keeping the house comfortable.

With a few of hours, a caulk gun, tape, mastic, eye protection and some gloves. Sealing with mastic (aka - "pooky") or metal tape will properly seal holes in your heating and cooling system. Using caulk around edges that lead into living space will help keep your air quality at its optimal level.

Benefits of Duct Sealing
